Eldorado Maximum
Design of an art adventure book for les Commissaires Anonymes.
Eldorado Maximum, like a lot of projects from Les Commissaires anonymes, is difficult to classify. Somewhere between an essay, an adventure novel and a log-book, we took great pleasure to give a shape to this UFO. We really want to thank les Commissaires Anonymes for the great freedom and trust they gave us.

We used the Minotaur font edited by Production Type to compose the entirety of the book. We where seduced by its rough shapes that work very well once riso-printed and its proportions inspired by early XXth century’s letters were perfect to create an adventure book feeling.
We printed deep between the pages, names of places that where once described as Eldorados, composed in lombardic caps, like hidden treasures. You need to open the book really well to be able to read them.

Eldorado Maximum was Riso printed by Papier Machine in blue, gold and neon orange. Every page is covered by a light stochastic screening creating a constant noise on the paper. Images where printed in duotone or monochrome.
